Lotvara is a directory. Reading it doesn’t require an account, and using it doesn’t send your activity to us.

What happens in your browser, and stays there

The ZIP code search sorts listings by straight-line distance using a list of ZIP code centers built into the page. When you type a ZIP code, that calculation runs on your own device. Your ZIP code is never sent to Lotvara, to any server, or to anyone else. If you share a link that includes a ZIP code (for example, to show someone the sources near a location), that ZIP code is visible in the link itself, the same as any other web address you might share.

Analytics

Lotvara uses Google Analytics to understand which pages get used — for example, whether the ZIP code search gets used, or which categories people click into. Google Analytics uses cookies and collects things like the pages you visit, roughly where you're visiting from (based on your IP address, not a precise location), and what kind of device and browser you're using. We see this as aggregate numbers and trends, not as a profile tied to your name or email — we don't ask for either.

Google processes this data under its own privacy policy, and may combine it with other data Google has about you if you have a Google account. You can read Google's policy at policies.google.com/privacy, and you can block this kind of tracking with a browser extension such as Google's own Analytics opt-out, or with your browser's or an ad-blocker's cookie and tracking-script controls.

We do not use any other analytics or advertising trackers beyond this, and we don't sell or share this data with anyone besides Google, as Google's own service requires.

Accounts

Lotvara does not ask visitors to create accounts or submit personal information to browse the directory or the blog.

If you email us

If you contact Lotvara by email — to report a dead link, suggest a source, or ask about a listing — we keep that message and whatever you choose to include in it, the same as any email you send anyone. We use it to do the thing you emailed about, and we don’t sell or share it.

Links to other sites

Every listing links out to the auction, platform or agency it describes. Once you click through, you’re on that site, under its own privacy practices, not ours. We don’t control what those sites collect.

Public records

Some information in the directory — a business name, a license status, a county — comes from public sources such as the NC Auctioneer Licensing Board. That information was already public before we listed it; we didn’t collect it from you.
