By using Lotvara, you agree to these terms. If something here doesn’t sit right with you, the simplest option is not to use the site.

What Lotvara is

Lotvara is an independent directory of auction, liquidation and surplus sources in North Carolina. We describe each source in our own words and link to it. We are not an auction house, we don’t run any of the sales listed here, and we’re not a party to any transaction you make with a listed source.

Accuracy

We check what we can before listing something — a working link, and where it applies, an active license on the NC Auctioneer Licensing Board’s public list. Even so, businesses close, links break, and hours change faster than any directory can track in real time. Every listing shows when it was last checked. Confirm details directly with the source before you rely on them, especially before traveling somewhere for an in-person sale.

Paid listings

Some entries are paid placements, and those are labeled “Paid listing.” Payment affects placement only. It never changes what we say about a business, and it never exempts a business from the same verification every listing goes through. Where a business has added its own description in its own words, that text is labeled as theirs and is not verified by Lotvara. Business owners can see current rates on the advertising pricing page.

Third-party links

Every listing sends you to a site we don’t control — an auctioneer, a platform like HiBid, or a government agency. Once you click through, that site’s own terms and policies apply, not ours. We’re not responsible for what happens on those sites, including the outcome of any auction, purchase or bid.

No warranty

Lotvara is provided as-is, without any guarantee that a listing is current, complete or error-free. We do our best to keep it accurate, but we don’t promise it.

Changes

We may update these terms, the directory, or the blog at any time. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the current version.
